SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO

For the first time our athletes participated in the Winter Olympics
as the national team of Serbia and Montenegro, having qualified in four
sports: Alpine skiing (Jelena Lolović, Marija Trmčić, Želimir Vuković),
cross country (Branka Kuzeljević, Aleksandar Milenković), biathlon (Aleksandar
MIlenković) and figure skating (Trifun Živanović).
Aleksandar Milenković was the only participant of the Turin Games to
compete in two sports (cross country and biathlon) and one of the few to
take part in both Summer and Winter Games. Three participations in three
sports in the Summer and Winter Games place Milenković amongst nonpareil
Olympic Movement record holders.
Unfortunately, our athletes failed to play a significant role in the
Olympic competitions.
