SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES PARTICIPANTS
(classified by sports)

The Yugoslav athletes participated in each of 22 editions of the Summer Olympic Games since 1912, when the athletes of Serbia debuted on the Olympic scene. In the period between 1920 and 2000 they competed as the athletes of Yugoslavia, except in 1992 when they took part in the Games as the Independent Olympic Participants. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens they debuted as the Olympians of Serbia and Montenegro. In 2008. after 96 years, athletes debuted as Olympians of Serbia. The Summer Games were staged 26 times (they were not held during the First and Second World War).
A total of 1,325 athletes took part in the Summer Olympic Games and recorded 2,945 participations in 25 sports:
